Dr. Kweku Opoku-Agyemang is the founder, CEO and Chief Scientist of Machine Learning X Doing. He is an economist and computer scientist.
He is also an honorary research affiliate with the International Growth Centre, which is co-run by the London School of Economics and the University of Oxford.
He has also independently presented his research to leading technology firms and advised government leaders from more than 14 countries on digital economics and related areas.
Kweku does scientific research at the intersection of economics and computer science; in digital economics, machine learning, econometrics, as well as both pure and applied mathematics and related areas. He has given invited talks to audiences at Stanford University, London School of Economics, University of Oxford, the Econometric Society, the American Economic Association, the Canadian Economics Association, and others. His work has been published in Trends in Cognitive Sciences, the leading cognitive science journal and others.
Kweku is a former honorary research fellow with the Algorithmic Fairness and Opacity Group at UC Berkeley. Kweku was also a Postdoctoral Associate with Cornell Tech and a Global Poverty and Practice Fellow and faculty lecturer with the Blum Center for Developing Economies at UC Berkeley. Kweku has previously been a Visiting Scholar with the Berkeley Emergent Space Tensegrities Lab at UC Berkeley’s Mechanical Engineering Department, and an affiliate of the Berkeley Institute for Data Science. An avid believer in monitoring, evaluation and impact mentorship, he has also mentored Big Ideas and other student entrepreneurs and also judged multiple business plan competitions at UC Berkeley.
