Machine Learning X Doing

Diversity of Thought from Research and Development (R&D) to Impact

In terms of sheer diversity of intellectual thought, Kweku Opoku-Agyemang is the only economist in the world to have been on economics faculty (at the University of California at Berkeley) who was also a postdoctoral fellow in computer science (at Cornell Tech) and a visiting scholar in mechanical engineering (at UC Berkeley).

Kweku has always taken an active role in mentoring underrepresented groups in his research and teaching capacities. Kweku was invited for the inaugural retreat held by the California Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate, a collective of faculty from Stanford University, the California Institute of Technology, University of California, Berkeley and University of California Los Angeles to empower diverse technical researchers in mathematical, physical, computing and engineering fields from these institutions. He has also chaired a session for the Canadian Economics Association and was on the program committee of the ACM Special Interest Group on Computers and Society Computing and Sustainable Societies (ACM COMPASS ’20) Conference. In addition to technology companies, Kweku has shared his expertise with government officials from 12 countries.

With Machine Learning X Doing, Kweku is creating new opportunities for all and ensuring that AI is an overall positive force of good.

The best way to predict the future of AI is to create it.

Research and Development (R&D) is vital to Machine Learning X Doing, yet our heartbeat connects learning to doing: we also rigorously connect technological innovation with the economic and social sciences.

Building organizational community is what Machine Learning X Doing Does.

We attempt to make organizations more accessible by uplifting their business cultures.
